Since its founding, C. Abud & Cía. has been developing its contributions to social work alongside its core business through the Corporación Naim-Curció. Today, Christian Abud is the president of the board and its legal representative while his wife, Silvia Sittler is the director and founder of the project. Naim was born out of the necessity to integrate Curció’s youth most in need and at risk to allow them to choose their own path with greater opportunities.

During its 18 years of service, Corporación Naim-Curicó has developed a prevention program for children “from and in the streets” from five to eighteen years old, who given their precarious life are exposed to high risk situations, leading to possible lives of crime, drug addiction, and alcoholism among others.

"Nowadays, we have two shelter homes, one in Curicó and the other

in Rauco, where approximately 300 children are cared for."

One of our greatest tasks consists of getting these children into the school system and maintaining regular attendance and academic success. This would not be possible without our team of twelve professionals of social workers, psychologists, and educators who on a daily basis give these young people the tools necessary to accomplish important opportunities in their lives.

Because of their motivating work we have relied on the support from other fruit producers and companies such as Exportadora Subsole and Frusan who have not only provided economic assistance, but have also worked in person to better understand this great challenge. From this collaboration, the organization Comunidad de Corazones (Community of Hearts) was created so that in addition to providing fruit, they also provide children’s smiles.
