On Thursday, March 17, 2016, visited the offices of C. Abud & Cia Bruce Cameron (Deputy Chairman), Natham Flowerday (Director) and Simon Limmer (Chief Operating Officer), board members of Zespri, New Zealand, accompanied by Francisco Donoso.
The visit had as objective to know what the Chilean industry is doing in the production of kiwifruit and the control of Psa, besides generating a starting point of relations that allow a technical exchange and of experiences between productive realities that benefit and open new opportunities for both countries. .
After the meeting in office, Agricola Montefrutal was visited to see in field the management carried out for the containment of Psa in kiwis and the technology used in irrigation and nutrition to obtain quality fruit, through precision agriculture.
Currently Zespri is betting strongly on the development of its yellow G3 variety, which has shown a greater capacity to coexist with PSA and opens an opportunity to develop world demand for this fruit, from which Chile could benefit from its supply of yellow varieties (Jintao, Sorelli, Enza Gold, Kiss and Dori among others).
The visit was guided by Christian Abud (General Manager), Raimundo Cuevas (Technical Manager) and Sebastián Navarro (Technical Assistant).
